He looks behind him for a moment, then shakes his head.
"It's her all right..."

Oh...? What's that supposed to mean?

She appears some distance away, continuing her stroll.

He stops, just watching again. "Well...there is only one way to be sure..."
...
"Miss! Stop please!"
He starts running towards her.

"Oh... Is there something the matter?" she asks, stopping as requested.

Please let it be her...
He 'trips' and sends a near invisible blade right through one of her paws, around the 'knee' part.

"..."
She remains silent, and first helps the Ninetales up, before calmly pulling the blade out. The wound instantly seals itself shut.

"Well. You are who I thought you are then, Shay."

"Oh...?"
She chuckles at this.
"Don't think I didn't know that was a test, boy. Now... What you said- is that a good thing or a bad thing...?"

"Good thing. I'm Nathaniel of Solstince, but probably already know that. I've been moving a lot because I sense a problem."

"Oh... Yes, I have heard of you. What is this problem, of which you speak...?"

"That's the issue. I don't know what it is. And even worse, I have the last working flute in ex-"
He stops, turning around slowly.
"...I feel someone is listening in on. Perhaps we should go to a place a tad less...public?"

"A wise idea. Would you like to come inside?" she offers.

"Gladly. I'm not huge fan of mud..." he chuckles, then stands back up. "Oh, and sorry about that test." ^^;

"Don't worry about it. Consider it payback for me shoving you out the door," she says, then trots inside.

He looks back again, scanning the trees briefly, and then turning to follow Shay inside.

The door shuts behind them, and she leads him downstairs.

He follows her down, his eyes glowing softly, so he can see perfectly.

She shuts the trapdoor behind them, then snaps her claws... A row of torches on the walls light up.
"There. We will be safe to talk without eavesdroppers down here."

"...okay. I sense a problem, but can pinpoint it, which irks me. You may or may not know-"

"Well you do, I'll assume, I have the last remaining flute. I've been traveling a lot to keep it safe."
...
"In retrospect, that prolly wasn't a good idea. But I want to get rid of said problem."

"And said problem is...?"
It seems she really doesn't know.

"I don't know, I thought I just said that."
He moves on his feet a bit, then says, "Well, there was this Espeon who followed me through a portal...but I brushed it off, and sent her back...but now that I think of it..."

"An Espeon... What did she look like?" she asks, starting to frown.

"...Day...is that you?" she asks timidly, and slowly stands up in her cave.

"Yeah... Where are you?" the Glaceon asks, still not seeing her.

She quickly goes over to her door, and pokes her head out. "O...ver here? Where are you?"

She was right next to the entrance.
"Oh... I'm blind." ._.
